Mr. Young has worked in the financial services industry for nearly 20 years serving clients as they have made the transition into full retirement, achieving financial independence. His relationship with each client is unique, holistic in nature and comprehensive encompassing a complete understanding of their aspirations, core values, and financial goals and objectives.
As a Certified Estate Planner (CEP®), Registered Financial Consultant (RFC®), and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®), Mr. Young serves his clients effectively. In addition he is a Managing Securities Principal, an Investment Adviser Representative, and a Registered Representative through one of most renowned independent broker-dealers in the country, Commonwealth Financial Network®. David is fully securities registered, holding his FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 registrations. In addition, he holds his life/health and variable life/annuity licenses in Virginia and a number of other states and territories in the United States.
Considered a “native” to Northern Virginia, Mr. Young's ancestors settled in the Washington D.C. area in the late 1800s. He graduated from Fairfax High School in 1983, attended George Mason University and was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University in 1988. David is committed to ongoing education and is currently working through the College for Financial Planning for further certification.
At the beginning of his professional career, Mr. Young served as a Christian minister serving in a number of Anglican (Episcopal) churches throughout the country—first as a pastor to young people and their families, a worship leader and as director of program development. David has a heart for pastoral ministry and mission work here in the United States—having trained and led teams of young people and adults in missionary work along the DelMarVa peninsula since the early 1980s.
Mr. Young began his career in the financial services industry by establishing an advisory practice with IDS/American Express (currently Ameriprise) where he excelled and became a nationally recognized top advisor, mentor and trainer of other advisors. After successfully building a practice in the Phoenix Metropolitan area David transferred to Savannah / Hilton Head to lead a group of offices. David then returned to Northern Virginia and continued to build his practice in Fairfax and, in partnership with Householder Group / AIG Financial Advisors (currently SagePoint), he served as Regional Vice President, Managing Principal and a national trainer for new advisors.
Clarion Wealth Management Partners was founded by Mr. Young in 2009 and is affiliated with Commonwealth Financial Network® one of the nation’s largest and oldest independent broker-dealers. David serves as both President and as Wealth Advisor within the firm -- leading the Clarion organization and serving clients in a way that incorporates his personal gifts, knowledge, and expertise in the areas of estate planning, retirement income distribution, wealth management, and protection planning.
David and his wife, Meg, live in Warrenton, Virginia. Their oldest son, Peyton, is a first year student at the University of Virginia studying engineering and their youngest son, Harris, is a freshman at Kettle Run High School in Fauquier.
As an active member of his community and church, David supports a number of organizations, movements and churches -- challenging them to become more efficient and effective in the areas of stewardship, development, ministry and worship. David currently serves on the Advisory Board for NOVACO, a regional non-profit helping victims of domestic abuse through community collaboration. Recently he served on the Board of Directors for Scripture Union/USA, a national, non-denominational ministry in strategic partnership with the Salvation Army focused on impacting the lives of families and young people throughout our nation and the world.
David Young is proud to have been recognized as a Chairman’s Level advisor—a distinction attained by just 3 percent of advisors affiliated with Commonwealth Financial Network during 2013.
Mr. Albritton is our Director of Financial Planning Services; he delivers an extraordinary financial planning experience to existing client while ensuring that the financial planning process runs smoothly with our prospective clients.
Before coming to Clarion, Ryan began his career in the financial services industry at ING Financial Partners as a financial advisor. As part of a military family, Ryan spent his early childhood moving around the United States with a few years in Germany as well. His family settled in the Washington-DC area as the tours concluded and he attended West Springfield High School where he met his wife, Sarah.
Ryan attended and received his Bachelor of Science degree in public administration from George Mason University. He is a registered staff member and holds his life/health licenses with state of Virginia as well as his Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 with through Commonwealth Financial Network®. He is currently working to obtain his CFP® certification through the University of Richmond.
In his spare time, Ryan enjoys traveling and scuba diving or using his culinary skills in the kitchen. As an avid sports fan, depending on the season, Ryan will be watching the Redskins or any college football game, rooting for the Washington Capitals during hockey season, or rooting for the UNC Tarheels during basketball season. Showing his true love of sports, he also enjoys hiking with his dog, Stanley Cup. He and his wife Sarah reside in Lake Ridge.
As both our Director of First Impressions and Office Manager, Diane ensures that all of our clients and prospective clients receive the highest level of hospitality and attention whether they are in the office or she is speaking with them on the phone. She is responsible for all of our office operations, estate planning support as well as insurance business support. She is also responsible for ensuring that our office operates in compliance and client records as well as supporting our events and public functions.
Prior to joining Clarion in 2011 Diane worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in a medium-security prison just outside of Dallas, Texas. She worked closely with the senior warden as a liaison between the prison and government and law enforcement agencies. She also helped to ensure that the prison met the contractual obligations with the customer as well as addressing administrative and legal issues within the offender population. In addition Diane had experience in the financial services industry working as a bank teller at Bank of America.
A native Texan and oldest of four children, Diane attended the University of Texas majoring in Biology. She completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Diane is fully licensed with the state of Virginia for life and health insurance and is currently working on obtaining her Series 7 and 66 certifications through Commonwealth Financial Network.
When not at work, Diane enjoys traveling, cooking and volunteering at local area non-profit organizations. Since she was born in Dallas, Texas she remains true to the Dallas Cowboys as an avid fan despite living in Redskins territory.
Meg has worked in the financial services industry for nearly 8 years —in partnership with David for most of that time. She specializes in all aspects of our public and private marketing, client appreciation, and educational events—and she takes care of all of our public relations and our internal business matters at Clarion.
Originally from Oklahoma and Texas, Meg has an extensive background in customer service serving in many different capacities and working in companies such as Phillips Petroleum (presently ConocoPhillips) and American Express (corporate card services). She attended and graduated from Texas A&M and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
Meg serves in the community as a small group leader with Bible Study Fellowship, a national ministry dedicated to in-depth Bible study. In addition Meg is a very active school-based volunteer.
Working both out of our office in Fairfax and in her home office throughout the week, Meg successfully juggles her activities, keeping up with a first year student at the University of Virginia and a teenager in high school.
